Sue Riccardelli was flying home to Newark, New Jersey from Paris when she ended up in Gander.

She tells CityNews it was important for her to be there today.

We left, you know, as acquaintances, and we've developed friendships, uh, very strong friendships, um, through the 22 years.

And we wanted to be back with our friends to commemorate what, um, happened in the United States, uh, but also to, to celebrate our friendship, um, that, you know, that formed on that day and during that time.

And like, they're interesting because, you know, Chum is someone, again, I grew up in Toronto, so I was also like an avid viewer of City TV, City News, movie television, fashion television, the new music, all these shows.

So, like, the chum aesthetic that was very much present in all those programs and much music, that sort of openness and street level and...

The US House has overwhelmingly approved temporary funding to keep federal agencies operating through the 11th of December, sending the measure to President Donald Trump after a 370 to 48 vote.

The U.S. targeted Iranian rocket launchers near the Strait of Hormuz.

City News senior business editor Mike Eppel has more.

Iran last night said it had launched missiles at U.S. sites in Jordan, with the U.S. military launching defense armaments costing tens of millions of dollars.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command says the Iranians were set to launch rockets with sea mines into the strait, just days after the U.S. military had completed clearing mines from the international shipping routes.

But I got to say, I watch this stuff more closely than most.

And what I saw from Brad first is the fact that he highlighted, I think it was City News.

So she went on CNN.

But when City News asked her her and her campaign for a similar conversation about how can how can the city of Toronto protect itself against Donald Trump's tariffs? Not only did she not appear, but they didn't even send in a statement.

Meanwhile, he went into the studio and gave them seven minutes.

And then from there, he left to go to a bread factory where he pointed out that in order to balance her NDP budget, Olivia Chow rated the rainy day fund to the tune of a billion dollars.

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne, Industry Minister Melanie Joly, Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu, and AI Minister Evan Solomon are all expected to share details of supports for workers affected by tariffs.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said on the He spoke about the trade war at an announcement in Quebec on Monday.

It's not a surprise for us that the U.S. would take some form of reprisal to our response to their unjustified tariff which was on top of other unjustified tariffs.

The federal agency that manages Canada's prisons says it was legally required to release a man who allegedly went on to stab two worshippers at an Edmonton Sikh temple the day after his release.

The Correctional Service of Canada tells City News in a statement, the statutory release of convicts is not a choice or discretionary decision.

Instead, the CSC says it's required by law after an offender serves two-thirds of a fixed federal sentence and with the offender being supervised in the community under conditional release.
