And then, um, yeah, she just, when they separated, she kind of worked three jobs.

Um, and then she was, yeah, a receptionist on the weekends, essentially trying to keep us out of the housing estates and keep paying a mortgage she couldn't afford, which she couldn't.

And that, you know, and interestingly, always women, that, like, helped me through.

Um, and then I kind of just snuck into med school.

But I'd worked for six years with kids in the Frankston City Council, same place I went to for long hours 'cause my mom worked so much, outside of school hours care, so holiday program, before or after school stuff.

And I just found, you know, that's where Billy came from, and, like, I just found myself- ... enjoying these kids, but I knew I didn't have what it takes to be a teacher.

Um, that changes a city like that overnight.

You've got huge jobs in creating the hospital, but lots of long-term jobs and higher paid jobs that stay in the area afterwards.

The amended bill now goes to the Legislative Assembly for consideration, with its passing considered a formality.

In other news, Yarra City Council has voted to investigate banning smart glasses at leisure centres, childcare facilities and playgrounds to protect community privacy.

Mayor Stephen Jolly said there is a need to safeguard vulnerable community members while confirming exceptions will be investigated for people living with a disability.

The motion was brought forward by Councillor Sophie Wade after the federal government signalled it would be a local council responsibility, confirming it was not planning to ban imports of the wearable technology.

Yarra is believed to be only the second council in Australia to move on a potential ban after Brisbane City Council.

The council will also advocate for stronger federal privacy legislation to address emerging technologies.

Hepburn Shire Council has issued an apology after two separate printing errors by a contractor affected the latest distribution of rates notices and community flyers.
