The circular economy, even though it can sound like a model for the future, in many ways, it's already here.

Between 121 and 142 million people are already working in the circular economy.

Working history is back.

We've got a lot to discuss and we're just getting started.

That's right, Chris.

On the Future of Work podcast, astronaut David Saint-Jacques and labour expert Caspar Edmonds ask what life in space, where water and equipment must be reused, can teach us about work on Earth.

They explore the millions of jobs already tied to repairing, reusing and recycling, what they call the circular economy, and what it will take to make those jobs safe and decent.

They bought a couple of mobile phone businesses, a mobile phone direct.

But if future fleets are built using thermoplastic matrices like PEI or PPS, which, as we learned today, can simply be reheated, melted down and reshaped without chemical degradation.

The circular economy implication.

Exactly.

Could this manufacturing technology not just solve the immediate scaling problem, but completely revolutionize the circular economy and thermal recyclability of the entire aerospace industry?

It is a profound structural shift, honestly, not just in how we build high-performance aircrafts, but in how we reclaim them at the end of their life cycle.

Something to think about the next time you are specifying materials for a new project.

And I think that's the beauty of a marriage between circular economy and systems thinking.

Because systems thinking brings this pause.

basically, that says, okay, let's step back.

You can do computer modeling.

You can go up the continuum that way.

But there's also a set of habits of minds, questions, like we just said, what happens next, that can be integrated to really help in terms of creating more of a circular economy.

Most organisations are missing out on the game-changing opportunities of the circular economy.

Instead, they're prioritising incremental improvements like recyclability and circular materials.
