We're trying to learn as quick as we can, but mid-season, that transition has obviously been a struggle and it's leading to set-piece goals and more than that as well.

Yes, that is the Dundalk manager, Ciarán Kilduff, speaking to myself after that game up at Oriel Park.
Stephen DoyleHOST
6:22
It really was a thrilling finish to it.
Stephen DoyleHOST

And, well, we didn't get to speak to Alan Reynolds, the Bohemians manager, because Bohemians are protesting and refusing to speak to the media.
Conor McKeonPANELIST

But Shells aren't, do they? No, no, but they will have a say.
Conor McKeonPANELIST
60:29
And Dundalk, sorry, Rovers' final game is away to Dundalk, and the last time Rovers played Dundalk... was the Stephen Bradley, Ciarán Kilduff, Bobby Burns fallout.
Conor McKeonPANELIST
60:39
The overseer.
Conor McKeonPANELIST
60:40
The overseer and all of that stuff that went into that derby.
Laurie RyanGUEST

And it's a smoother transition, hopefully, now into next season.

I presume you've got a much greater appreciation for what the likes of Ciarán and people you had Ciarán Kilduff and those that were coaching when you were playing went through now that you've got to do it yourself
Laurie RyanGUEST

and you know what I'm actually so lucky with Ciarán like he rang me um when I first was getting offered the job and then he's kept in touch with me pretty much every week since around it and and he's usually the first person I've messaged for when I come off the pitch as well so like he's been a great mentor to me um but he also did that while I was playing as well and he let me in on kind of his thought process around certain things and um yeah like that's invaluable when you see how well he's doing with Dundalk and like the steps he's taken he's doing his pro license now and he's still able to kind of mentor me in certain scenarios um it's been really good in that sense um and like people around the league like aren't afraid to help me as well like if you have a question like there's oftentimes you've had to just ring managers and just be like come here what's the story with this or how does this work like because like they they understand like it is a difficult gig and when you're in it it can be quite lonely at times and and the people you have around you're kind of the only people that understand what actually goes into it
James LynchHOST

just in treaty and and as a club you know you come in there it's it's new for you you're new for them uh how was that transition and you know how do you feel that you've settled over the course of the season in there is it very much a home for you now in that sense
Niall NewberryGUEST
36:07
There's a lot of factors there.
Niall NewberryGUEST
36:08
And it's a very, very tough job for Ciarán Kilduff now on that because, you know, i asked that question tonight in terms of like how does he lift this squad of players and yeah look his response was there's still plenty of experience in there that can lift the younger lads there's only four games to play We can't lose or end.
Niall NewberryGUEST
36:25
We can't stop getting behind the team, I suppose, in that sense.
Niall NewberryGUEST
36:27
But it's difficult now for us to kind of...
Niall NewberryGUEST
37:42
I mean, Rovers dropped more points than any league champion should be doing yet or topped again tonight.
Niall NewberryGUEST
37:50
pats obviously have to play again i mean it's just it's it's been a mad mad season and it's been the same where we are we did make the comment of we'd won winning 10 coming into this and we're still fourth i mean that probably shouldn't happen if we're being honest and we probably should have sunk lower than fourth a lot earlier than we have um but now it seems like you know the cat's out of the bag nearly in that sense and we're now looking down as opposed to up and that's look i said it on monday night it's probably a team that needs a season to finish um We just do, and I just don't see the legs there at the minute, and we just need to get enough points to keep us, hopefully, in the top half of the table so we can write it off as a good season, you know?
ChrisHOST
38:26
Yeah, I think we'll take this opportunity to hear Ciarán Kilduff's post-match thoughts, thanks to LOITV.

Having a natural right back obviously played a part in the game as well at one point.
