"A Letterkenny councilor has submitted a motion calling for the suspension of active travel works in the town.
Greg HughesHOST
3:12
Councilor Ciaran Brogan of Fianna Fáil is expected to table the motion at Letterkenny's Milford Municipal District meeting next week." It reads, "I propose that the council suspend the proposed works with active travel plans already passed through planning at this point, namely the Ballyrane Road to Tesco roundabout, Circular Road from the hospital roundabout to the top of Glencar, and that we as a council seek specialist traffic consultants to look at short, medium, and long-term solutions." It's a big motion, and it's an interesting motion because it will involve those who voted in favor of, um, these, uh, active travel plans getting into that debate.
Greg HughesHOST
3:52
So that's gonna be a very interesting meeting, because it will be interesting to see where those that voted in favor of the active travel, uh, developments, where they are at now in their opinions.
Greg HughesHOST
4:02
Uh, Councilor Brogan and his Fianna Fáil colleagues amongst those that voted against them.

"Greg, why do we need to keep making the same points before we've heard? Very annoying that red tape is valued more than lives." I do find it frustrating, and I try and sit here and not get frustrated, but I share exactly where you're coming from.
Greg HughesHOST

We mentioned active travel coming up by way of a motion, um, at the Letterkenny, uh, Milford Municipal District, or maybe it's the full council, I'm not sure.

"Greg, how can C- Councillor Ciaran Brogan, a government party councilor, say he wants to pull funding from road infrastructure in Letterkenny? It's astonishing, and I cannot believe it.
Greg HughesHOST
21:31
We have been so underfunded, and now we have funding, and he wants to pull it.
