Churchy season two was the end of Churchy because of that same merger.

That same merger cost both of us, cost you a show you had just sold and me a show that had season two.

They were like, and we only keep an X, Y, and Z.

As much as their dreams, it's like our kids are about to go into college, so we're like, "We can't take these big financial risks for these shows," you know? We were spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to put these shows on.

So, and I'm grateful to God that spending that on Churchy is what set me up, but I was like, "I can't take risks of that magnitude anymore." So after Churchy, we scaled down.

We, we took a much smaller risk on The Hospital and we were able to sell that, and that's the last time that we've had to finance something of our own.

So this Tubi deal, you know, it's, it's allowed me capital to create, you know, shows.

Oh, absolutely.

For sure.

I mean, I think with Churchy, we proved that we could create quality programming on our own.

There's a very different conversation when you're going to a network and you're saying, "Here's eight completed episodes of a TV show," versus a pilot or a script or a log line or a deck.

he had this scripted show called Churchy, and he had reached out and he wanted us to do a episode of the show.

It's just, it's, oh my gosh, I did a, um, I did one with Kev on stage.

Kev has, Kev has a, um, a show on, uh, BET called, uh, Churchy.

And I did a little video promo thing with that, where it was white pastor, white youth pastor interviews for a black church.

And it was just me doing whatever topic he brought up.

I used to get the cast on Churchy, me, Jasmine, Mark, and Tahir.

After lunch, I would get us all drinks.

And I wrote their drinks down in my notes so I don't have to ask them every time.

I only worked with the network.

I just, with Churchy, was the first time that I created something and I had to work with the network and somebody above me could tell me no.

And it was no.
