As is now becoming par for the course for Marvel in advance of the TBA premiere date of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 in January of 2027, Marvel will release a prequel comic bridging the gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

Written by Christos Gage with art by Eric Gapster, who worked on the first prequel series, the synopsis reads, quote, Your favorite web-slinger is back.

We cover on the show a few years ago, First X-Men, which is a wild Neil Adams, Christos Gage story set before the X-Men, where Wolverine and Sabretooth formed their own version of the X-Men before Xavier ever did.

Wild story.

But Creed falls in love with an 18-year-old girl.

Like there's something I want to know about her to make her sing a little bit more as a character.

It's interesting too, right around the same era, Dan, just before you put this book out, They used those, like, old Neil Adams pages, Christos Gage used some old, like, unpublished pages and worked with Neil on some modern stuff.

And they put out a title called First X-Men, which is, like, a very benevolent Sabretooth working with, like, a very benevolent Wolverine in the pre-X-Men history.

They form, like, a team of, like, kids that were getting experimented on by the government.

Well, the Spider-Verse run is strange.

It's written by Dan Slott and Christos Gage.

Um... and a whole bevy of artists.

And it was across a range of titles, it was like 20 issues.

Just a point of clarification.

Was he aware that that title had been used in 2024 by Christos Gage for Weapon X-Men Volume 1?

we are, this is such an important thing, Adam.

And I, what I will say is I'm going to put a pin in that.

They actually have a great animation wing.

You're looking at stuff like Spider-Man and his amazing friends.

They're actually doing okay around 1980.

Right.

A lot of people.

And this is one of those things where it's kind of like movie logic meeting the com or TV logic meeting where the Cobra commander whose voice you can probably hear.

starts freaking out he didn't want that it was too real they massacred prisoners of war and it's like there's stuff like where like some of them are jumping on top of their friends to protect them it's so dark it is a comic book that if you were reading it if you were reading the comic all the way through when you hit that issue you'd be like wait excuse me it's so dark

And I mean, it is worth noting having a Vietnam vet do this and understand some of the disillusionment of people and powers.
