Christopher Rim

He needs to either...

Oh, Chris Rim just wrote something.

Interesting.

But...

And then it's probably fairly short after that, but going through that part of it, yeah.

who's making his NBA Today debut, Chris Rim.

You've seen him covering the NFL.

Now he's with us.

I think he could be the X factor of this Sixers team because we've kind of forgotten a little bit about for what he did last year.

I think, though, when you're talking about this game tonight, we're not going to decide that they're still playing, right? It's the preseason.

Are we losing sight of the plot a little bit? As we heard Chris Rim say, this is the first time we're going to see Jason Tatum play against, or Jalen Brown, rather, play against his former squad.

I'm not losing sight of the plot.

You know, I, I think definitely people are, are around the team and organization, and the fans definitely won't wanna hear that for sure.

Uh, but you wrote a, a great article about the protection and how it's been really lacking for Justin Herbert his entire career, and you were in the room when he said, you know, the, when, um, he said that former beat writer Chris Rim was insulting him by bringing up the question about the hits Justin Herbert has taken.

It probably doesn't get enough attention because, you know, they've been pretty good until this year even with the abuse, but how much do you think the failure to protect him has to lead to the version that we are seeing now?

We still have more great stuff with Noah coming up, including the Chargers trying out a bunch of receivers, including Juju Smith-Schuster and more on today's Locked On Chargers podcast.

It was a very, very strange relationship between those two.

And what happened to Chris Rim? Did he l- [laughs] did he get fired? Or why did he go to-

No

...

I had my games.

Uh, our good, our compa, Chris Rim.

Oh, that's right.

Yeah, then Chris Rim leaves the, the beat, so I can't play, uh, uh, um, MVP's song anymore.

This is...

Fucking stupid mic.

Uh, Pop, um-

Give him a great Lightning Strike welcome.

What's up, my boy?

Well, I, I put going live on TikTok, but I should've also said podcast.

I just tweeted it out.

But, um, uh, I'm Chris Rim.

I cover the Chargers for ESPN.

He's written over 2,000 articles for a wide range of publications, including The Washington Post, The Atlantic, ESPN, and The Boston Globe.

Along with his former student, Chris Rim, now a reporter for ESPN, Dobrow co-hosted a podcast called Liberty, Justice, and Ball on the intersection of basketball and social justice, sponsored by our neighbors down the street, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

An event to celebrate the book, Original City, Original Sin, will happen on October 22nd at Bombeck Center for the Arts and Equity in Florence.

The event is titled The Planets Orbiting Around Dr. Martin Luther King.

I mean, I don't have a crystal ball.

I don't know.

But I think that what is always required is the active involvement of people, and particularly young people, because that's always what drives movements, and so a number of the people in this book were students, you know, from as young as fourth grade.

Orwin Brunson, who's still alive and is, has an amazing, amazing story that's in this book.
