EIG Behind the Scenes: Technology and the Human Connection

Brett EngelkingHOST
So maybe talk a little bit about what a client can expect to receive on an ongoing basis from us.
C
1:27Christina SchnuckelGUEST
So, yes, those custodian statements through We Custody at Charles Schwab, they're great statements.
C
1:35Christina SchnuckelGUEST
But where they kind of fall short is they're just going to show you what happened in that month.
C
1:39Christina SchnuckelGUEST
OK, so oftentimes I do get questions from clients of saying, i thought the market's up this year it's showing that my statement for the month of march is down you know um you know did i lose money it's like no you're still up for the year but that one month happened to be a negative month which is gonna happen right some months are positive some months are negative And so those statements tend to be a little short-sighted.
C
2:03Christina SchnuckelGUEST
So we really kind of looked at how do we build something that's going to be more meaningful for our clients? Because we encourage you to look at your statements.
10 MINS LATER

Brett EngelkingHOST
So then what should clients expect out of their wealth advisor, whether it's with Ellenbecker or somewhere else? If the investment piece is going to perform about the same, give or take, what are they getting? What's the value that they would get from those other firms or from Ellenbecker, too, to justify those fees?

And so talk a little bit about that and how that fits into the whole overall arching piece that is Ellen Becker.

The Wealth Seed is a really unique program, and I'm really excited about it.
C
3:24Christina SchnuckelGUEST
I know Julie and Karen are really excited about it as well, because when we talk about financial education that's out there and available and where our younger generations are going for their information, it's things like TikTok, right? It's Instagram.
C
3:38Christina SchnuckelGUEST
It's where they're getting their financial information, and it's not accurate.
C
3:43Christina SchnuckelGUEST
And it really paints a distorted picture of where they should be in their life, what they should be focusing on.
C
3:49Christina SchnuckelGUEST
So the wealth seed really came about to put out good financial education for clients that are maybe just getting started or are a little ways into their financial journey and just don't know where they should go.

Brett EngelkingHOST
But talk about that process, that learning process, what we do to make sure it's a good fit on both sides.
