King Christian X

My brain gets stuck on things.

So let's briefly touch on the legend of King Christian X of Denmark.

Um, a lot of the books that I had read did start with this story, and their version of the story is that the, um, like many other countries, Denmark's Jews were asked to wear gold stars.

Yeah.

It was a decisive vote, yes.

Because prior to 1944, Iceland shared a monarchy with King Christian X of Denmark.

That meant the independence they supposedly had was fundamentally incomplete.

It was tethered.
