Christian Quarter

It's outside the city.

If you look on the yellow portion right there, the Christian quarter, that's what we talked about last week, that weird church that was over top of that site.

I do believe that's the actual site.

but the whole other part is up top so watch this video real quick because i want to get to this last lesson real quick for the last point we are in the middle of studying the gospel of luke we are here in israel we start out each lesson at a place that we're going to be studying so you can see the places Israel that attach to the Bible so you can see these are real places that are in the Bible this is just not a fairy tale this is something that's real that's happened and archaeologically it's true so it's so fun to be here and our desire was to bring Israel to you so that the Bible will just come alive now today is one of the most important lessons and it's because we We are at the tomb where Jesus rose from the dead because here's the problem, it's not even a problem, it's awesome, is that if the resurrection never happened, then we should not even be here teaching Bible because our faith is all about Jesus dying rising from the dead, paying for our sins, and he's coming back to get us someday.

Now, we talked last week, we were at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

If you look actually on your map that I gave you, we always say the Mount of Olives is to the right on your map, and that kind of gives us an idea.

If you look straight down past the Muslim Quarter, past the Christian Quarter, over to the right, you'll see the possible Garden Tomb.

There are two possible places.

A street that served residents, corner grocery, hardware shop, community bakery, gets replaced by souvenir stores, chain hotels, tour group restaurants.

The Old City's Christian Quarter Road is basically the case study.

It was a mixed-use market street.

Now it's overwhelmingly tourist-oriented retail.

The residents who stayed now shop elsewhere, often outside the Old City walls entirely.
