Christian culture

Those are obvious, right? Those are things that are written out plainly in the Bible.

Then personal convictions are not the same thing, and I feel like the word conviction is thrown around so loosely, especially in the Christian culture of, like, "I have this conviction." Did you? Because I feel like a lot of people are taking whatever their conviction is and making that scripture.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, I think, I think because so many people, m- they kind of just merge personal conviction and conviction of sin together because it uses the same word.

It destroys people.

It destroys testimonies because people get so hung up on these things saving them or these things making them a better person, when in reality, all we can actually rely on is Jesus, and that's all we're meant to rely on is Jesus, not anything else.

And this whole conversation circled back to us of the negative parts of the Christian culture, which I think we should do a whole separate episode about, because it's not perfect, and in a lot of ways, th- when you get into the legalism, you're no better than the Mormons are at that point.

And I, I just have an allergy to legalism at this point.

You were talking about Christian nationalism, and that's something I've been studying and thinking about for a while.

Um, first, you know, if we're not actively as Christian people building a distinctly Christian culture, um, we're not gonna have one, 'cause other people will build o- theirs, and we see that-

... them trying and, and opposing us.

Mm.

And we scream and have a fit because we're entitled, we act entitled to a culture based on Christianity, but we live in a post-Christian culture now, and we haven't gotten used to that.

Our language and disposition, especially in evangelism and apologetics, hasn't yet changed.

We often sound very entitled.
