Christadelphians

And what we can do in that day is hopefully cultivate an unhurried life.

Now we as Christadelphians do take our Sundays and we go to meeting and Sunday school.

And hopefully we can carry that on the rest of the day and say as a family or as an ecclesia, we're going to do things together.

We're going to go for walks.

And he was saying, I'll never be able to do that anymore.

Because in the car, with his phone, the busyness of life has taken it all away.

Unfortunately, he could have said I just have to be more intentional about it now, but I can do it and we can do it and And one of the important things that we're going to get to tomorrow is we're creating this time and space But then we're filling it with things and we're going to talk about the great heritage of Christadelphians and hopefully bring some intentionality because some of those things can just become habits and why those things are so important.

What we've been raised with are so important to fill these times and spaces.

What am I actually doing? Like I'm doing lots of things.

I'm a good Christadelphian.

You know, I go to Bible schools.

I'm on a committee.

We're just as anxious, just as undisciplined, just as angry, lustful, and jealous.

So that's the way we're viewed.

Now, hopefully, as Christadelphians, we set a higher bar.

As disciples of Christ, we're really active in being disciples.

So how do we fill the time and space? We're going to go through as many as we can in the time that we have.

And as Christadelphians, we've been given a tremendous heritage.

And it didn't really strike me until we had some new brothers and sisters.

We had one from Iran.

We had a family from Africa.

And they had not been brought up in the culture of Christadelphians.

And so coming every Sunday was not something that they had been taught was essential.

And so they'd come once a month, once every other month.

So maybe you go over the readings.

Or we've got some great Christadelphian podcasts now.

Driving can be an opportunity to practice forgiveness.

To bless those who curse you.

He said, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

That word repent, there was a book written.

This is not a Christadelphian book.

over a hundred years ago by Treadwell Walden, the great meaning of metanoia.

This book is offered as a help to all who would communicate with their Maker in this God-given way.

Based on the series of the same name that appeared in the Christadelphian during 2002 and 2003, the subject matter has been rearranged and expanded.

The studies draw extensively on biblical examples of men and women of prayer, but do not claim to be exhaustive.

It is hoped, however, that there will be something of benefit for all, experienced, disciple and novice, to help fellow pilgrims along the path of prayer, and to gain greater insight into this vast and vital subject.

He listens to our petitions and, more often than we usually care to acknowledge, He answers us.

Not all have the desire to pray to God, but those who do and who commit themselves to God's service are able to come through the Lord Jesus Christ into the presence of a heavenly Father who hears and responds according to His infinite wisdom and compassionate love.

This work is based on articles which appeared in the Christadelphian from February 2002 to November 2003, though with some rearrangement and expansion.

A book on prayer can never be exhaustive.

We've been treated very well, and we thank you for that.

And we pray that this Bible school will continue to be a blessing for the Christadelphian community going forward until Christ returns.
