Chrism Mass

I mean, that's a unique moment, but I know that it happened, and in a sense, each time we celebrate the Eucharist, like we did this morning at, um, the Lateran or, uh, at St. Peter's this week on Thursday, that sense of we really are one body called by the Lord, um, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and, uh, that this is a beautiful icon of the church itself.

I mean, like, I think of Chrism Mass, um, during Holy Week, here I am the bishop with the presbyterate, with the, the deacons, with the lay faithful, with the blessing of the oils, and, uh, it really is an icon of the local church, uh, just as when we celebrate mass with the Holy Father, it's an icon of the church universal.

Uh, so I think these are important experiences.

That's why pilgrimage is so important, that we can have these kinds of experiences.
