I don't think that's been out of school to be critical of Luke Fickle, given the way things have gone.

And even though, remember, I had the rant after he had the horrible post-practice press conference after Chris McIntosh left and he was being antagonistic, he was being a dick.

I mean, that's what he was being.

And remember, we kind of went off on that.

Like, they were at a crossroads with Luke Fickle last year where they had to announce midseason that he was going to come back, and they took a long, hard look institutionally at where they were.

Chris McIntosh, the AD, left for a Big Ten job.

They brought in Sean Eichhorst, but the whole theme of the change was we believe in Luke Fickle and we need to support the program better.

Now, they had horrible quarterback luck, right? The stat is overwhelming of, you know, the guy that should have been starting and how many times he started for them over the past couple seasons.

And so you thought, like, maybe, I think Chris McIntosh thought Fickell could get us through this time, and maybe Jimmy was too traditional.

I'm not, I don't know that.

So if you go out and you beat Penn State, then we can have more conversations about, you know, what does it mean and what could it do for this program? But they know that there's a lot on the line and Luke has known this the entire off season.

He's known it since I'm sure the day that Chris McIntosh said, you're going to be sticking around for another year that, well, if you're going to get a year four and you're in year three and you're not really sure, then this is really the best chance.

And the only chance that you have to prove that you can continue on as the head coach.

Yeah.

I don't think very many people, if anyone, anticipated other than Chris McIntosh waking up Sunday and learning at some point that Paul Crist had been fired.

Last year, people felt like it could be headed in this direction.
