Chris Ford

I was taught by some of the best shooters I had.

And then one of my influences, too, who got me into coaching was the old Celtics coach, Chris Ford.

Hit the first three-pointer in NBA history.

I went to his basketball camps a lot in the summers.

who was your biggest coaching influence? I know you kind of talked about the Boston Celtics, but what, what have you learned from them or like maybe more people around your circle?

Yeah.

So back when I was younger, it was definitely, you know, Chris Ford was a big influence.

My other coach when I was probably, I think it was seventh grade was when I went to play travel league in our town.

It was a one year trial for that first year that it came out.

And I believe it was Boston's Chris Ford was the first person to ever score a three point shot.

But it was Seattle's Fred Downtown Brown who led the- Downtown, what

a great name that is.

McHale bored him in the throat.

And then we and then now we look and we even think about the guys now who, you know, we miss now, you know, who've gone to the other side, like, you know, like Chris Ford.

And, you know, we think about him and and one of your favorites of all time.

And nobody knew this, but one of your favorites was Terry Dubrovnik.

... mispronounced some of those names in there, I hope not

... now, Chris Ford, of course, I remember.

Oh, yeah.

Very unsuccessful five years.

He was-

Then ML Carr for a couple years.

Wasn't Chris Ford the first three-pointer in NBA history?

Is that right? I don't...

And true, that was somewhat by design.

It's funny, though, on review, when I was doing the work of putting together the radar, I thought to myself, because what I did is I fed the transcripts into Claude and Claude comes out and says, I've meds at this and I've meds at that and Chris Ford said this and Chris said that.

But it was giving them to me like by episode, but I'm not sure it actually knew who was speaking.

So some of the things that it would attribute to a guest, it might've been me that said it.
