Chris Donovan

We've seen for the last couple of weeks him, when he is operating in the role of this creative controller for them in transition... how it opens up a lot more vibrance for their attack and a lot more dimension.

I think that he and Donovan have struck up a really nice chemistry on the break over the last month or so as well.

I'm going to use the same lens that Ryan used just in terms of quantifying what the impact looks like whenever he is getting on the score sheet with a goal contribution.

This year, when it's just a contribution, Louisville will have five wins, two draws, one loss.

What do you think about that?

They kind of just tackled both.

Serrano, as this complement to what Chris Donovan has become, I think is an inspired choice.

Donovan has really stepped up as a setup player.

So how did this one turn out on Saturday night at Lynn Family Stadium? Louisville came out firing against rival Indy on all cylinders, and Ray Serrano just needed seven minutes to get on the score sheet.

Chris Donovan supplied the pass for Serrano to finish, setting the tone for a dominant first half.

Eric Dick was in nowhere's land, off his line towards the top of the D, outside of the box, coming off his line like that.

and Serrano just dribbled past him and put it into the empty net.

In the 33rd minute, Donovan combined with Kevin Lambert on a quick give-and-go, allowing the Jamaican defender to double Louisville's lead in the 33rd.

So already, after half an hour, big, big trouble for Indy 11.

And it just kept that way because in the 42nd minute, another partnership between Donovan and Serrano continuing on display with Serrano scoring his second goal from another Donovan assist.

So now three assists for Donovan in the opening half.

That is one of the worst rates in the East.

Chris Donovan isn't scoring goals, really.

So if you think about when you get to the postseason, if you need to be a defensive team that can shut games down, Louisville isn't that yet.

So can they go the other route and be an offense that outscores you? Also no.
