Uh, Steve McNair, when he signed his first contract, he signed the length of a contract that's no longer, uh, legal.

And so they had the luxury of sitting him a couple years and playing Chris Chandler.

And they brought in Jerry Rhome as offensive coordinator 'cause he had coached Chandler at Arizona.

And Steve got to play in spurts as a rookie in '95, and then a little more in '96.

And then he was ready to be a starter up there I think is when he, they had signed Neil O'Donnell.

Do the Falcons start five quarterbacks? Is Chris Chandler one of them? What do you do?

I think the Falcons are more likely because Cleveland, as long as Deshaun Watson's standing upright, Jimmy Haslam's putting him out there.

Yeah, but the thing is, like, but Cleveland's going to, they're going to play at least, like, I know they're going to play three.

And our good buddy we played golf with was the quarterback.

Exactly.

Yeah.

But see, here's the thing.

It's funny because if you go back and watch the film, I'm not going back in memory lane, but I'm just kind of explaining to the listeners that when Chris Chandler, my quarterback at the time, when I was in 1995, he aborted everything.

What he did is he called a protection to the right or the right or the left to make sure he was protected.

And what he did is the play was a seven-step drop to where he was going to get a deeper route.

We were able to go to the Super Bowl when they played the Denver Broncos back in 1999 and to be able to interview those folks.

So, you know, Chris Chandler, obviously June Jones, well, not June Jones, but Dan Reeves, who was the coach of the Falcons, June Jones before him.

And even John Elway after his last game, being able to go to these different sports events, going to the SEC championship game, which I covered four times and seeing those teams, you know, win that conference and go on, usually to play for a national championship in front of raucous crowds.

It was just fun to be a part of all that.
