Was it always a goal to make this a PG 13 film to make it a little bit more, or is that just kind of how it evolved?
7:31
I think it's how it evolved.
7:33
We knew it was going to be dark and we definitely didn't want to shy away from that.
7:37
I think everything that we do, we want to be bold about it.
7:42
And when we were initially talking about what resonated most with the novel, it's that it is, it's absolutely that one of those classic, you know, fairy tale stories about growing up.
7:59
And I think, you know, quite often those growing up stories aren't as truthful maybe as they should be.
8:07
Because a big truth for me that came across when I was reading the book is that, you know, the world is full of dark stuff and you don't always know how to deal with it.
11:55
Yeah, I mean, what do you think is sort of the journey that she goes on in the story? What do you think she, Prue, what do you think she, I guess, learns from the whole experience?
1:11
So how did you go about, you know, adapting this for, you know, you guys is like you in house?
1:19
Well, I have never at that point, because we're going back a few years.
1:24
I just finished making Paranorman, which was my first directing job.
1:31
It was my first script.
1:33
Actually, it was my first full script.
1:35
And after that, Travis approached me and he said, I've got a book that you might be interested in.
1:41
I would love for the studio to make it.

7 MINS LATER

I was wondering, actually, if you could talk about your relationship with Travis Knight and how you guys work together, because it seems like you guys trust each other instinctively.
