You have been nominated by your friend Chrissy for a makeover.

I've heard you wanted to do a makeover for a long time, so tell us why you wanted to change your hair and stuff.

You look gorgeous.

this was such a fun transformation you know laura was really nervous about cutting her hair and a lot of redheads are they don't want to leave that world because they're scared they won't get back so we had a conversation about staying in the redhead family we went for this lighter strawberry blonde gorgeous which was actually a lot softer it warmed up her skin because as you age it kind of gets darker the ends of her hair were quite dark so we wanted to lift and brighten so it actually looks like a natural color i feel like the red is very natural but it's actually it's like five levels lighter than what it was

i worked i stayed in the salon for a long time and then when i kind of became i got to like the top price level and i kind of thought well what's next I kind of made this now and I was still, you know, like 19.

So then I realized there was another side of her, like the editorial side.

So photo shoots, you know, and I then got kind of invested in doing education programs.

Like I did the L'Oreal ID artist.

And then I think it was called HQ Ambassador.

There was like lots of different programs where you were getting to have an exposure to outside of the salon.

Can you tell us more?

Yes, we are surprising Emma, who is a nurse practitioner in the neurosurgery department, and she was nominated by her mom, Leanne.

Now, Leanne says that Emma's very good at looking after other people, but not so good at prioritizing herself.

So we're here to make her feel special.

We are moments away from surprising Emma, who thinks she's been called in for a team meeting.

So fun.

Well, we called this the billionaire blonde.

Reason being because it's like the ultimate blonde.

[laughs]

My leave at the door is people that say they're intermittent fasting when really they're on Ozempic.

Yeah.

'Cause, like, every- I, I mean, look, I work out really hard.

I eat really well, but sometimes I'm traveling like crazy and I have got a big appetite, and I always wanted to s- lose a couple of pounds, just, like, feel a little tighter.

And then when I kind of became, I got to like the top price level and I kind of thought, well, what's next? I kind of made this now and I was still, you know, like 19.

Now, the best part is Laura thinks she's here for a regular day of work.

Little does she know that we're about to go up and surprise her for a full day of pampering.

I think the, you, you-- kids leaving the town you grew up in is really powerful, I think, because it en- enables them to see there's more than just what's going on, you know, in the 2.4 children.

You know, like, the kind of like, you know, you go to work, you come home, you know, you get married at a young age, you have a kid.

I want them to experience some life to see what was out there for them to make the decisions they wanted to make, and I'm incredibly proud of who they are.

And like I say, very open and honest.

Um, I take Kitty with me to all these different events and...

I mean, it's interesting, when she first moved to America, she couldn't even look the waiter in the eye.

Why do you think the marriage didn't work?

That's so me.

Like, I don't know.

I feel like I love the idea of a change.

I just wonder that if you did it, like, after two weeks, you might be like, "Oh, for God's sake, what did I do?"

This was such a fun transformation.

I love doing something different.

She sat in my chair.

She's never colored her hair her whole life.

And Katie also, she recovered from cancer, so her hair was more delicate.

Yeah.

This hair, Chris, tell us about the look.

Yeah

... because I've done the work, but it was really dark.

The darkest years of my life, for sure.

But I think in finding who I truly was, I realized that I'd been so mean to myself my whole life.

So that kid that got bullied at school and that kid that felt different and not quite understood, I left him and really kinda became something that I was told to be or what was, like I said, normal.

Yeah.

I got... was there for, like, three or four months.

I didn't get any work.

... to the area.

Yeah.

I mean, you know, I think what you'll find in the book is a lot about me that you didn't know.

Who am I to, like, tell anyone anything about my life when people probably only know me as working with celebrities, having, you know, an image on social media which looks quite polished and put together, hopefully.

I don't know, that's what I try to create.

Without me just being really raw and saying, "Okay, you've seen this side of me," which is a very small part of who I am, but this is the real behind the scenes of it all.

And I think, you know, I talk about some of the darkest moments in my life, I talk about some of the hardest times, and I talk about my comeback, and I talk about how I redefined, you know, my roots and where I came from because I come from a very humble beginning.

It's also a British thing.

Mm.

But just to say it just felt, felt like I was saying I'm h- I'm, you know, something terrible.

So anyway, we told the kids, and I just remember the confusion on their face, and I just thought, "God, I've changed their lives forever, and I've ruined their lives." I just felt like I was absolutely the worst person.

And I got in the car and I drove away, and I just went on autopilot.

I drove, I drove, I drove, and I checked into this hotel, and I still had the picture of the kids.

I remember that's the only thing I'd kept with me, and I just laid there and I, I just, I...

Yeah, that's, I, I felt a lot of shame around this, but I...
