Next for me is Understory by Chloe Benjamin.

This was one of the most unique books I've ever read.

I'd describe it as beautifully bizarre.

I found it incredibly immersive and a book that begs to be discussed.

I absolutely recommend buddy reading it because you're going to want to have somebody to decompress with.

The way that Chloe Benjamin's mind works and the world that she creates is very worthy of discussion and clarification at times.

one thing to note about this book is that the last third of the book or the second half even feels completely different from the first half of the book and for me i loved the journey that chloe benjamin took me on as a reader but just know that what you start with isn't where you land so it is very unique in that way and that's understory by chloe benjamin

Yeah, so, so much to love.

So I'm holding up the book again, Chloe Benjamin's Understory.

It's a Good Morning America pick.

It is called Understory.

It's by Chloe Benjamin.

And I'll just read you the outline.

At an isolated research station in Antarctica, biologist Laura Salter washes dishes for a living 10 hours a day, six days a week.

Very sad to say goodbye, but I thought it ended very well.

And so then I was like, "I don't know what to do right now," so I just decided to randomly start this morning Under Story by Chloe Benjamin, which is a book that we talked-

Every time.

I don't know who I write to about this, but I feel up in arms of like needing to write a letter to some editor that Understory by Chloe Benjamin currently has... 3.96. And I'm like, the fact that this book is not over four stars, this is a triumph to book writing people.

You do not deserve this if you are giving it under four stars.

It's surprising.

Yeah.

But, um, I just finished Understory by Chloe Benjamin, which was phenomenal.

Such a great book.

Um, I loved, uh, The Witches of Cambridge by Alice Hoffman.

Poor Lauren Groff didn't even make it to bridesmaid status this time.

But there are like a lot, there are a lot of books, right? I really was hoping to see the new Chloe Benjamin would have been really fun, right? Something that I kind of already have on my TBR just as an excuse to read them a little bit sooner, but I'll live and I will find a way to slot them in later this year, I guess.

Yes.

That's one at a time.

It's a bit like a modern day Big Chill and it follows a group of university friends.

through sort of six parties over 20 years and then there's one big love story that goes right through it but it's about the friendships i absolutely adored that um and i've i've been i i read a lot of proofs and arcs at the moment something that i i'm not sure when it's coming there are two that are coming very soon um one is understory um by chloe chloe benjamin And that sort of goes, it's almost like a sort of sci-fi love story.

It's huge in scope, amazing characters.

And it's about a couple who get the chance to go back in time.
