Chizuk

Good morning, welcome to Beth-Erin, Rishus, Rav Shachter Shlita, Rav Oblasky Shlita.

I'd like to thank TorahWeb for selecting our shul to host this morning's shiurim, and for giving Beth-Erin the privilege of serving as a home for Torah and Chizuk for the broader community, particularly at this very important time as we approach the Yom Norayim.

Something very special and appropriate about gathering an Elul for Torah, not just to inform us, but also to shape us, to deepen our thinking and to refine our Avodah Hashem, and strengthen our responsibility to one another.

Our first year this morning will be given by Rabbi Yaakov Wrobloski, one of the esteemed Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University.

I can turn today.

And then with Chizuk, I can keep climbing tomorrow.

And that is why the Torah in this week's Parsha can tell us both, Aten Nitzavim, your standing, and uvacharta b'chaim, choose life.

You're already part of a story that began thousands of years before you.

It got, they started, and then it stopped, right? And then they had to build again.

You should take Chizuk from that.

Aviva did not ask me to do this, nor did Barry.

I'm doing this only because I genuinely believe it.

I know you're all on Zoom and you're all muted, but I'm assuming you're all clapping and you're all going crazy for Barry and Aviva.

Thank you, Rebetzin Spira, for always following and leading us in the charge.

And Be'ez Hashem, it will be a meaningful El for all of us, but a special Shchus for Barry and Aviva for once again making the Chizuk mission so awesome for all of us.

Okay, that was by way of introduction.

And going through his own life circumstances, he needs a Torah that speaks to him.

And so he finds his own unique life circumstances reflected in this Ma'amar Chazal, even though it's not what Chazal mean alapanim and none of the Mefarshim say that.
