So, you know, I think it was exciting for Vermonters to see what's possible.

Now, I want to ask you about an issue that's been in the news big time lately in the last few days to a week, and that is Attorney General Charity Clark deciding to charge protesters.

These cases were sent over to her office instead of Chittenden County State's Attorney Sarah George.

They were moved over to the Attorney General's office by the Public Safety Commissioner.

So natural gas is limited to parts of Chittenden County, small part of Franklin County, small part of Addison County, and that's it.

We have the lowest penetration of natural gas of any state, but for Hawaii.

Really? Yes.

So we've got a lot of ledge in stringing a pipe, as we just found out in the recent expansion from Chittenden County to Addison County.

It costs about $2 million a mile.

My guess, I don't know, but my guess is that would be double or triple today, and there's no plans to expand it.

I think it's a concept, it's a movement that I think is really...

so important to our state and to people who live in our state, especially in Burlington and Chittenden County, around where Vermont Green plays, around where Ben and Jerry's is based.

Yeah, it's just a value set that I think is ingrained in Vermont culture.

And I think it's the lens from which we view many different things.

900 people in Vermont doing anything is impactful.

And I'll push back a little bit because maybe in Chittenden County, Where I think you're probably the best known you haven't been as visible, but to win the governor's race Yeah, my assumption was you've been burning the tar basically all around the state between the Northeast Kingdom and and southern Vermont Southwest, Vermont You know and Bennington, you know east west and Brattleboro.

That's my assumption, but well how Respond to that if you would

Yeah, so definitely getting all around was just down in Tunbridge for the fair and, you know, spending some time down in, like, Bennington.

But then the other part, we want to preserve these fragile ecosystems in the more rural parts of the state.

The landowners in the Northeast Kingdom and other areas We're really rural parts of the state just said, you know, this is the liberals from Chittenden County telling us what to do again, and we're not going to stand for it.

And they managed to get that part of the law repealed.

So so New Hampshire has the challenge of will it be generous enough to really stop? take on these major problems, whereas Vermont, the challenge is more, will the state try to go too far and then have to pull back? So it's a mirror image of the same thing.
