Chishū Ryū

And this one is it's another marriage story drama.

um this one's a little bit more liberal i think um and it's a little bit different in terms of the dynamic because rather than the dad being played by who's chishu ryu who's normally a pretty soft guy you know he's the kind of soft dad you know he's like oh he's my dad he's a big softy kind of a guy The dad is played by Shin Saburi, who's just a bit of a grumpy asshole, but in a nice way.

So it's kind of just an interesting dynamic in Econog Flower compared to something like, you know, Late Spring.

We've kind of seen the story before.

She would star in a lot of his films, including some of the ones, well, one of the ones that we're going to talk about today.

So again, he's keeping his finger on the pulse in terms of the new upcoming stars in Japan.

you know not just relying on the old reliables because obviously we have kanjiro nakamura we have machiko kyo we have of course chishu ryu who i joked with you is the nick fury of the japanese cinematic universe yes um of course we have chishu here so um

if that's if that's the case then would haruko sugimura be the agent uh colson yeah i guess so Because she's so great as like that aunt who's just disapproving of everything and a little sarcastic and kind of judgy.
