There were multiple reports of a woman screaming near Dark Creek, where it comes down from Dark Canyon into the neighborhood.

According to a documentary about the case made by local filmmaker Chip Croft, residents heard a woman scream two times around 11:00 PM just a few days after Mitrice disappeared.

The second scream, one of the witnesses said, was cut short.

Some speculated maybe the screamer's throat had been slit.
