Chief Tui

Beautiful sentiment, but this stack isn't the highest point on this island, or even this mountain.

So Chief Tui is making no new mountain out of this molehill.

Also, unless there's a convenient staircase on the backside of this mountain, getting to the top requires trudging up this slope here, then following the note bridge all the way to the This Was a Stupid Idea Summit.

Not to mention Moana and her father bringing no provisions for this hell no hike.

He was a water person, Dad, not just water.

He took a canoe.

Why did Chief Tui wait for a thunderstorm to try long-distance sailing for the first time? In the animated version, the storm didn't begin until they'd already taken the boat out, which seems more like a cruel twist of fate.

In this version, it makes him look like a cruel, reckless dumbass.
