Chico Resch

Hi, this is Chico Resch.

You are listening to the Let's Go Devils podcast on the Primetime Radio Network.

Happy Devils Friday.

I would think.

I played hockey myself as a kid, and my nickname was Chico for Chico Resch.

There he is.

Great guy.

He went back to Vancouver and he was put on waivers, I believe, or traded.

And Chico was a good teammate.

We liked Chico.

He was great, as every other player was, but we were losing.

We didn't have that team.

We happened to be in Calgary.

He gets us some tickets to the Flames game, and it was Keenan's first year with the Flyers.

It was a big year with Chico Resch and Ron Hextall, and they had that big run.

And one other thing, I looked this up because I did this for a name from our past.

The first Devils goalie to get a win, the great Chico Resch.

I figured you'd like that.

Is that right? Is that right? Chico Resch played for the Islanders before he played for the Devils.

I mean, the greatest Devils goalie ever, I guess, is Martin Brodeur, I would think.

That's right.

Yeah, why, Sam?

Chico Resch said it on Sunday's podcast because players simply don't want to go to Canada, especially American players, when they're subject to that kind of unnecessary scrutiny.

They should be able to walk down the street with their family, their loved ones, their children, and be private citizens.

Yet when the professional side comes, yeah, you could take a selfie.
