Chicago State Cougars

Lindenwood outgained Chicago State 549-332, forced three turnovers, including two interceptions, by the Lions defense Chicago State managed just three field goals all from kicker Donovan Blair which by the way historical note we mentioned every time Chicago State takes the field they're making history this year those were the first three field goals in program history they had no made field goals in their first seven games of the season but they had three on Saturday so congratulations Donovan Blair Now the answer to a trivia question.

The difference in this one, though, Lindenwood's explosive offense and ability to turn defensive takeaways into points got the Lions to 3-4 overall, 2-1 in their conference play, while the Cougars fall to 1-7.

So as we mentioned at the start of the show, only four weeks of NEC regular season football remain.

Four weeks from now, we'll be... getting up to head to our Thanksgiving leftovers while our NEC champion will be getting ready to represent the league in the FCS playoffs.

So Wagner's best path to an upset may be creating takeaways and keeping the game close into the fourth quarter.

With Merrimack coming off a confidence-building win and Wagner still searching for consistency, the key matchup is the Warriors' rushing attack against the Seahawks' defense that needs to create short fields and finish plays.

The Fort Lauderdale Eagles will be at the Chicago State Cougars, 3 p.m. Eastern to Central.

Chicago State hosts Fort Lauderdale.

They should ...

Like, when I think of Chicago State, North Carolina A&T, you couldn't have put that on a Friday? [laughs]

I know it.

You couldn't ... [laughs]

They can stay on Saturdays.

But I j- I just feel like it's not gonna hurt if we went ...

Chicago State, you're new to the FCS, all your games will be played on Thursday and Friday.

Well, we were just doing a show the other week when Army was playing.

Chicago State makes the trip down to Greensboro for a historic matchup against North Carolina A&T State.

It's the inaugural season of The Cougars continues.

Chicago State is building a program from the ground up under Head Coach Bobby Rome II.

While the results certainly have been mixed this year, The Cougars have already shown some offensive potential, including their 78 to 7 victory over Kentucky Christian a couple weeks ago.

They'll be facing an A&T team that, uh, is coming off one of their most dramatic wins of the season, a 30 to 27 overtime victory over New Hampshire.

The Aggies are two and five overall and have won two out of their last three, including a 22 to 18 victory over number 19 ranked Rhode Island.

A&T has struggled, though, to find consistently consistency offensively, though.

They average 19 points, 323 yards per game, but quarterback Kevin White has shown the ability to make plays through the air and with his legs.

Saturday night, Chicago State taking on fourth-ranked Tarleton State.

The Cougars came out strong, stopping the Texans on a fourth and goal from the one before putting together an impressive 19-play, 95-yard, nine-minute drive, capped off by a one-yard Chris Edmonds touchdown to take a seven-nothing lead.

Perhaps the best drive in program history.

Edmonds had his seventh touchdown of the season.
