Chi Chia-wei

He has been waiting, in one way or another, for thirty-three years.

His name is Chi Chia-Wei.

Let's step back from the rain for a moment and find out how he came to be standing here.

He is born on October twelfth, nineteen fifty-eight, on an island that is living under martial law.

The sound of all those voices rolls down the avenue and up into the night.

Then, in the spring of 2017, the Constitutional Court agrees to hear the question.

Two petitions are joined together, one from Chi Chia-Wei and one from the Taipei city government itself.

On March twenty-fourth, the justices hear the arguments.
