But, you know, you're not going to get an old Chevy Caprice, you know, big ass boat from the 90s that's still running.

On the morning of Thursday the 16th of October, 1986, a man in a traditional white guayabera shirt and dark trousers walked out of a house in western Broward County, Florida, and got into his wife's blue Chevrolet Caprice.

It was just after 7:45 AM.

He was 47 years old, heavyset, built like somebody who had done physical work for a living long before he stopped needing to, and he had a business meeting in downtown Miami at 8:30 AM.

Tell us a little bit about this motor and what's powering this thing.

So the motor itself was a blown motor that I pulled out of my Caprice.

So it's an L98 rectangle port 6.0 all aluminum.

We picked up the manifold from a company called Genevieve in the UK.

Exactly right.

Believe it or not, the seats are from a Holden ute from Australia.

They've got a special catch release, which you won't find on the other seats, which are similar to the Caprice or the Chevy SS sedan.

For the audience, Holden is the GM equivalent

You know, I-- when I mentioned, I rattled off all the, uh, psychedelics I did.

I, I had a momentary fear that people would think that I'm, you know, Hunter S. Thompson, you know, going on a bender in Las Vegas with this convertible Chevy Caprice.

But, uh, my mode of transportation to these altered states was typically a couch or a bed.

I did it with, always with practitioners or guides who were professionals or actual psychiatrists and psychologists by my side.
