Chester Thompson

Even though I've got a lot of American...

Chester Thompson, who's a hero of mine.

A lot of American drummers who I love.

And they're like brothers.

John Whetton on vocals.

We also had Chester Thompson on drums as well.

Performed a great rendition of the song.

So I love that rendition from Tokyo Tapes and I believe that was the way I found out about King Crimson before I even picked up a King Crimson LP for myself or even searched up a song on the computer.

We've got Rod McGaha.

We've got Chester Thompson.

We've got David Williford that night also.

On Saturday, I'm headlining with the great Bill Evans, saxophone player, played with Miles Davis for many years, with the drummer Keith Carlock, who's out with Toto now, played with Steely Dan and Sting, John Mayer.

um yeah but he's got a great web presence

i i feel like he was part of my childhood you know and then and it but it but it but it also didn't help that like both like chester thompson and daryl stermer were kind of in both at all times so it was really i mean like i'm that's the whole reason i want to do this with you is to like unravel the 1980s like

Figure out some weird

stuff we both saw, man.

No, we'll do another question here.

Uh, Rockabash says, "What are your thoughts on Phil Collins' style of drumming with Genesis and Chester Thompson whenever Phil stepped out to sing on stage?"

Uh, man, I always loved Phil Collins' drumming.

I, I, in Genesis, in Brand X, any of that.

He played drums on almost all of that.

He's, he's incredible.

And Chester Thompson too, man.

Fantastic.

He played a Unitopia tune for...

Sonor did their little demonstration of the drums with, you know, Chester Thompson plays Mania by Unitopia and had like pro cameras set up on him and stuff.

That was fun to watch.

Yeah.

Was

that George Duke and Chester Thompson? Yeah,

yeah, Napoleon Rock, all those guys.

Wow.
