Chesapeake City Public Schools

And Dr. Doug Brubaker, I'm gonna start with you.

Please give us a little bit of your bio and tell us a bit about Chesapeake Public Schools in Virginia.

Welcome, Doug.

Sure.

Well, I'm the newly minted superintendent of Chesapeake Public Schools.

I've been here about two months now.

Pr-- uh, this is my tenth year as a superintendent and, uh, again, just my second month here.

Chesapeake Public Schools is in southeast Virginia, um, and our free and reduced percentage is about thirty-five percent.

Um, it's been an incredible journey.

I, I taught special education, um, all students on the autism spectrum for 12 years within two different, um, schools within the same school system, uh, Chesapeake Public Schools here in Hampton Roads.

That was my very first career, very first, um, job out of college, and that's what brought me to Hampton Roads.

Um, so that really is, um, when I fell in love with this area and said it will be home.
