So he's putting on a whole show.

But during all this, Chekhov's little tiny knife comes into play because the roommate gave her this lipstick that's actually a knife, and she's able to get to it from her cage and unscrew, and she lets the influencer out.

The other guy's unconscious, and she can't... open the lock so it's like i'll come back for you i promise um but the influencer gets really agitated because the main character margo is like trying to get evidence from the guy's computer and she's like finding all the original files she's finding records and like like concept art and drawings and storyboards of the scenes including some stuff of her so she's like shit so she grabs this external hard drive But the influencer got lazy, or got restless rather, during all this, and decided to smash her way out of a back patio window, which of course the killer hears, and he comes running in with a sniper rifle and shoots her in the side.

So she gets put down, and then there's a whole bit of cat and mouse with Margot, there's some fighting off, there's some hiding... she has to hide at one point in his set where all the mannequins are set up and she's like behind like the plastic curtain pretending to be a mannequin with the hat on uh which is an okay scene you know it's a typical tense just try and be quiet the killer's stalking you scene which i always the funny thing about these scenes though is they always really over emphasize how loud the breathing is because i feel like if i actually try and be quiet like this I'm perfectly quiet.

It kind of fits with the sort of, like, anti-climax of the Nine getting away.

Nothing kicks off till the second act, so you really need to kinda know it's coming to enjoy the Chekhov's Gun setups.
