Check The Rhime

You know what I'm saying? So like running into him was, was nothing.

Um, and w- was Check the Rhyme on the video was shot on the top of New Cleaners, right? I can't remember if it was Check the Rhyme or-

Yeah, the rooftop.

Check the Rhyme?

Yeah, Check the Rhyme was on the top of, um, New Cleaners, the famous cleaners on, um, Linden Boulevard.

Right.

Right? And we were at the video shoot.

...

If you call it that, then stop.

Here we have beloved God-tier rap group and Queens icons A Tribe Called Quest explicitly sassing MC Hammer on their 1991 song Check the Rhyme.

Q-Tip is rapping there.

Q-Tip delivers the line, but in the Check the Rhyme video, it's the way Phife Dawg contemptuously wipes his nose while Q-Tip says, "Rap is not pop.

If you call it that, then stop." That's the real insult conveyed there to my beloved MC Hammer.

Don't worry, though.
