So how do we help everyone access the Bible on an everyday kind of basis? And that's kind of the goal here, isn't it? We talked about last week, it was the hands, the heart, and the mind, the three components of applying the Bible to the everyday, so being able to work being able to learn it in their minds and know it in the first instance and then you can apply it to your heart and then you can apply it and actually live it out but if you're not able to actually read it in the first place how can you do any one of those three things you need to be able to read it or to hear it or to um access it in some way so it is really cool that to hear a story like that and to know there's probably more stories beyond the one that um that you just mentioned there's probably many many stories out there of people being able to access the bible and the joy that it brings so that's that's really cool

well i think that's the big thing and the most encouraging aspect working at bible society is people stories When you work in an organisation such as Bible Society, there's so much opportunity for mission and being able to reach people in their local communities that you sometimes might be worried that you do a lot of reaching out, but not a lot of getting that impact or seeing the measures of this.

Chay HartyGUEST
So when we hear people's personal stories that they are now able to read the Bible for themselves confidently, Or, for example, the Everyday Faith Bible, they are finding new insights from reading God's word that they're able to apply to their heads, to their heart and into their hands.

Chay HartyGUEST
That is the biggest thing that brings me great joy and passion when working for Bible Society.

Chay HartyGUEST
is knowing that the work we do that may have been many, many years and has been very hard in producing those publications, when you're able to see that in people's hands and their response, it's just beautiful.

Chay HartyGUEST
And as part of my role, I do quite a bit of travelling for events and going to exhibitions.

Well, one of the ways it is helping people to pick up the Bible is making it available to people in the everyday, isn't it?

So in terms of how we kind of apply the Bible to our everyday life, it's not all easy, is it?

Chay HartyGUEST
In fact, it is sometimes taking a piece of scripture or reading it and you just kind of go, I actually don't really get what this means sometimes.

Chay HartyGUEST
One of my favourites is the parable of the sower and Jesus told this incredible story about scattering the seeds and the disciples themselves just go, ah, we don't get it.

Chay HartyGUEST
There is evidence of people who also go, well, we've heard from the son of God himself, but what does that actually mean? Now, obviously, we don't have Jesus in person there to explain it to us.

And then also to take out with it, to use it with their hands, you know, to actually act upon what they know in their head and in their heart.
