It was just, I developed a really nice relationship with his assistant who, who always treated me better than I deserve to be, you know, just some young punk down there in Maryland.

Um, Year three, 1991, he sent me an original short story called Chattery Teeth for the magazine.

In '91 Stephen King sent me an original story, Chattery Teeth.

Wow.

I'll never forget it.

Kara will remember.

We lived, you know, newly married, we were living in an apartment, and I get a postcard from a guy named Chuck Verrill, who was Steve's editor/agent, and it said, I think it said to the effect, "A month ago I sent you a manuscript, Chattery Teeth by Stephen King."

Um, he, he's a big fan of Cemetery Dance and would love to see it appear, and we wondered if you'd take, had a look at it yet.
