So this is the fifth film in Kevin Smith's intricately interconnected view, a skewer verse series.

The first four being clerks in 94 mall rats in 95 chasing Amy in 97.

We got 25 pages and we got to be done by nine.

I like dog and dog in 1999.

I will say of the, okay.

So what'd you say? You said you liked mall rats, but not chasing Amy.

I didn't mind chasing Amy.

That's the weaker.

Even like years ago when we were doing, you know, we did Mallrats and a year and a half later we did Chasing Amy.

And then so but there was never.

So, yeah.

And then, you know, it was actually funny.

I didn't see Chasing Amy, the one that comes after this until many, many years later after seeing like Dogma and a couple others of his movies.

Some reason Chasing Amy missed me.

And that might actually be the best, like best film that he did in this sort of group.

We'll probably get to it at some point because it was also the 90s.

And it's a funny thing about Johnny Depp, whether you like him or not, he varied all his roles from Gilbert Grape, when you seen him slapping the shit out of Leonardo DiCaprio, he was really hitting him because Leonardo DiCaprio was really hitting him too.

You know, there is a interesting story about Kevin Smith from Jay and Silent Bob, Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jersey Girls.

his daughter and Johnny Depp's daughter were friends.

In fact, later in life, they both signed, they both are in his movie Yoga Hosers, which wasn't a great movie, but a lot of people think it's called Status.

And the run early on, in case you're wondering, and if you're a youngster and you've never seen these classic college age movies.

This is pure 90s.

It's Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jersey Girl, Clerks 2.

Now we're going to go to the films that shaped us, but one that we don't talk about, and I have to mention, of course, is Chasing Amy.

One of the most famous scenes in a film about dykes takes place in the renowned Meow Mix of the Lower East Side.

And if you haven't seen the film, baby Ben Affleck, baby Jason Lee, and Ben Affleck has this huge crush on Amy, Joey Lauren Adams.

Here's Kelly Hankins' actual quote.

In a large number of film and television bar representations, from the earliest depiction to the present, the use of lesbian actresses or icons, the use of real lesbian bar space, or the use of particular editing and stylistic choices grant bar scenes documentary status.

So what Hankins is saying is the way we see these dyke bars on screen, even if they're fictional, or even if we're shot in a real space like Chasing Amy, we feel like this is what real dyke life is like.

Getting to the movie Boys on the Side, because this is the most amazing part.

Okay, so we talked about Kevin Smith earlier, and there's my favorite Kevin Smith line, and there's nobody else in the world that's going to pick this one.
