Chase Hendricks

We know how productive the wide receiver one in this Ohio Bobcat offense can be.

We had Chase Hendricks a year ago.

This week, the Bobcats have Stonehill, and then week five versus Kent State.

Very, very favorable matchups for Mr. Neal.

So Malik Willis on the road against the 49ers, that looks like a really tough match-up, but it's like, you know, would I rather have the guy who's at least going to get me, like, a locked in floor via the ground game, or Bo Nix, who just looked totally lost and might not really be able to run as much anymore because of the ankle injury?

injury?I will say this as I get, you know, Chase Hendricks says, "Why draft him in the first place? Go with Bryce Young." I mean, that is some Monday morning quarterbacking after [laughs] week one, Bryce Young having, like, the game of his career against what looks like one of the worst defenses in football.

I mean, I'll tell you why I drafted Bo Nix.

I mean, Bo Nix i- uh, averaged a higher points per game last year than Dak Prescott, and then got Jaylen Waddle added to the arsenal.

And so far this year, they brought in guys like Ian Strong, who had tough drops on Saturday.

They brought in Chase Hendricks, who's looked pretty good so far, but Cooper Perry hasn't done anything.

They haven't gotten anything out of Dorian Thomas yet, the transfer from New Mexico.

Mason Menes looked pretty solid like he did last year.

But I am keeping an eye on Cody Sigler at Auburn.

And then perhaps the one that I'm most excited to watch after their week one performance and kind of the impact they're having in their respective offenses is going to be Chase Hendricks, the Ohio wide receiver transferring to Cal.

He had a really, really strong week one performance against um, against UCLA.

He's not very big in stature, but man, I thought he plays pretty physical through contact for his size.

He was, he won down the field on a, I think it was a slot fade down the field, deep down the field on, on one of those, those throws from JKS as well.

So chase Hendricks at Ohio or at Cal transfer from Ohio has, has my attention as well.

Yeah, it's, uh, Back in the day, I used to like how many different schools we got to watch, all the random FCS and G5 schools, but now they just kind of all accumulate into a few programs, which has its benefits and its drawbacks.

It's great from an NFL draft perspective when you don't have to watch a million different games anymore.

Adam Muhammad looked good until that second half where they didn't really have any running lanes.

And Ian Strong, the Rutgers transfer, Chase Hendricks, the Ohio transfer, they looked the part on Saturday.

I want to see more out of Cooper Perry.

They should have New Mexico transfer tight end Dorian Thomas back for this game, so that will help them weapons-wise, but it comes down to the offensive line.

This offensive staff does not hide the ball with these early Power 4 games.

Last year, Game 1 against Rutgers, Chase Hendricks' line, nine catches, 115 yards.

Yep.

A year before that, first game of the season for Ohio against Syracuse, Coleman Owen, 10 catches, 137 yards, zero touchdowns.

But he had five receptions for 94 yards, and he's also a guy, very similar build to K.J. Duff, that's a 6'4 receiver that's going to be able to stay out the outside and be ultra-physical.

I also thought Chase Hendricks was getting open as well at a great rate.

Six receptions, 66 yards, and a touchdown.

He looked really good to me as well.

I think there are more competitors in the ACC this year, and I think that their schedule is actually going to be more difficult than they realize as you get to the second half of the year.

At Cal, I know Cal lost, but Cal, they're going to be able to throw the ball with JKS and Chase Hendricks and Ian Strong.
