Absolutely not.

So a band five, that's an entry level role.

So you acquire all the skills, knowledge and experience through your university qualification in order to fulfil the role of a band five.

If there's any stipulation to say you need experience in this, a qualification in that, then probably the role is not a band five and it's likely creeping into band six or even band seven sometimes.

So there's a lot of focus on this at the moment through the job evaluation process.

So NHS England have released details about how organisations need to now conduct a job evaluation on all of the band five roles, make sure that they are correctly within that band five scope.
