Charlie McConalogue

...

in all of it, and went into kind of an emergency conclave last night with the junior sports minister of Fianna Fáil's, Charlie McConalogue, who was urging restraint and saying nothing had been agreed or finalized as the senior minister is plowing ahead in this regard.

And then some Fianna Fáilers got in on the act early, like Peter Chadclear of Carlow-Kilkenny, uh, putting up his own video, making the announcement, and he won't take that down either.

[laughs]

Oh.

So they just kick around regularly.

I think the view in Fianna Fáil as well, that they were under the impression that this was Charlie McConalogue's, uh, uh, bailiwick, uh, and only realized this week that actually Patrick O'Donovan commands all the power when it comes to announcing the registration, to dishing out, uh, the grants.

He's the boss, he's the boss man.

That rule is there.

I discussed it actually with Minister McConalogue, the current Minister for Sport, uh, at our think-in yesterday, before we got news, uh, of President McAleese's resignation.

That rule is there, uh, and needs to be strictly enforced, uh, because it's completely wrong that I still get calls, and I'm still getting calls even in recent weeks, um, from, uh, from women in the LGFA and Camogie who don't have access to pitches.

And there are certain county teams from Meath who have to train outside the county because there are, this is women's teams, because there are no pitches available for them in Meath.
