My, uh, we recently, me and my brother recently took our, like, 90-plus-year-old grandmother and our dad to a Texas Ranger game.

And anyways, our grandma lives in Mississippi.

We, like, got her down, and there's this whole thing, and her, her family f- our family friend that helped us, helped bring her, like, sent me a thank you note recently, and it had, like, like an 8 by 12, like, printed photo from the game, and my head just, like, blew up.

It was crazy.

Was it, was it, like, a militaristic type of way that you were, or is it just we appreciate our shit here?

No, I don't know.

Could you just tell folks who haven't come across it what the anti-greenwash charter is? Just give people the real basics and then I have a follow up question for you.

yeah of course of course so maybe just to like give you a kind of i guess a brief kind of origin story if you like which will i think give context to kind of what the charter now is um we used to run a comms and marketing agency uh called gusto predominantly working in the built environment sector here in the uk and we had two really proactive clients come to us literally just after the Green Claims Code was published by the CMA back in, I think, January 2021, or you guys might tell me if it was February, it was sometime around the beginning of 2021.

And they came to us with what turned out to be like a transformational brief.

And the brief essentially was, guys, we've seen the Green Claims Code, but they basically said, guys, we've seen it and we're a bit scared.

We're shit scared, essentially.

um and we want you guys as our agency to come up with some sort of campaign that we can run to reassure all of our stakeholders both internally and externally that we are practicing our marketing and communications responsibly and mitigating all forms of misinformation and in particular greenwash right and you know, again, I'm speaking to the convert here, but I just thought it was an amazing brief.

And I was like, and we interpret it internally.

How difficult was it for you to keep your strength up, uh, as eventually you needed the use of a wheelchair for about a year, and you could not even complete, uh, basic daily tasks?

Um, I don't really remember a ton from that time period, but I just remember it was really hard, and I slept a lot, and I didn't really do anything, and that's what kind of led to the wheelchair, 'cause I didn't walk for so long.

So, like, if you don't use it, you lose it.

So I, then I, like, had to go in a wheelchair, and my hands didn't move, so.

Can you talk about that friendship, how it helped you during your treatment, and has that friendship continued, uh, now that you're, um, into 2026?

Um, being her friend was great.

We had, like, the same experiences, and yeah, it was pretty great.

Um, she has passed away since then, so yeah.
