And, and then, you know, my piece on the other hand is the first year that the commission was actually named after Charlie Lennon, who was a huge, had a huge impact on me growing up.
Aoife Ní BhriainGUEST
Actually, he lived in Dublin when I grew up, and some of my earliest memories, because my father, Mick O'Brien, he's an uilleann piper, worked with Charlie on Charlie's music like The Island Wedding, The Fammon Suite, those pieces that he wrote, um, for the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Last week on the show, we had spoke to Colm Ó Falchú, a past pupil of mine and a composer of, um, let's call it a, a crossover between classical and, and traditional, and Aoife works very much in the same vein, and the two of them have, in their time, each been, um, artist-in-residence in Studio Coen, which is based in Spiddal in Connemara.

It's, was set up by the wonderful Charlie Lennon himself, uh, a well-known name in the world of trad and a great practitioner in the world of classical and trad, um, fusion or, or, or marriage.

[laughs] And, uh, so each of them, both Aoife and Colm, have both, as they were in the residency in Connemara, uh, written a suite of music and both suites will be pre- will be presented together in RIAM, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, this coming Sunday evening at 6:00.

A beautiful evening of music guaranteed.
