Charley's War

So, comic-wise, we have Judge Dredd master moves, followed by whatever happened to Cookie.

Then we have Charlie's War, yawn.

Then we get more Judge Dredd with Ladies Night.

Then more Judge Dredd again with John Brown's body.

I need to have a robot with a chef's hat.

I think it's very simple.

We are adding that to the list of figures that have to be made we then get the dread files still going through case files one last time we entered this they were on luna one they're still on luna one i am not going to go through this because i did a whole video on the case files but we're still not through case files one yet so i don't know if they're going to do every case files because that'd be crazy there's quite a few but we'll see what happens We then swiftly move into the gold era, which is Charlie's War.

Now, normally I completely skip this section because I find Charlie's War a little bit boring.

2008 emerged from a culture in which comics such as Battle Warlord and Commando have made stories of soldiers and warfare hugely popular.

And one of the most important influences on the visual language of British War comics was Charlie's War, which we looked at in a previous episode.

Which brings us to Blighty Valley, written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Patrick Goddard.

The story begins in March 1918 as the German spring offensive breaks through the Western Front.

It's like a graphic novel of First World War soldiers in space.

It's like sold straight away.

So I kind of, I could see the Charlie's warness.

of it in there kind of visually to me it looked very very much like a Charlie's War graphic novel the thing that I found quite interesting about it which also kind of slightly goes back to Charlie's War I mean admittedly Charlie's War does the whole war so it's going to come up at some point I think when we've done some other graphic novels, they've focused at least part of their time on the German Spring Offensive of 1918.
