Charlevoix is a gorgeous little town about an hour outside of Traverse City.

When JonBenét was still very little, Patsy started entering her in children's pageants, the dresses, the rehearsals, the lights, the trophies, and JonBenét was a natural.

She racked up titles, including America's Royal Miss, Little Miss Charlevoix, and Little Miss Colorado.

There were singing lessons, dance classes, and custom-made costumes.

Meanwhile, Patsy coached her on how to walk a stage and win over the judges.

Hmm.

So yeah, I'm gonna go with Kingsley in this one against a, you know, a good Charlevoix team that's won seven or had seven straight winning seasons now.

So much is made, at least on, uh, on the, uh, E- eastern part of the state, about the Catholic League.

For Mike and Lainie, November 13th, 2021 was the beginning of what they both knew would be a trip to remember.

The father and daughter would board a small plane for a short flight from Charlevoix, Michigan, to the Beaver Island Airport, a total trip of about 32 miles.

From there, Lainie would spend a few days with a close family friend while Mike met up with a coworker and good friend of his for the first day of deer hunting season.

Since Beaver Island was the family's favorite place on Earth, excitement levels were high as Mike and Lainie made their final preparations.

Just before their 1:30 PM flight was set to take off, the two were dropped off at the airport in Charlevoix by Mike's wife and Lainie's mother Kristi.

After getting their bags out of the car, Mike approached Kristi to say goodbye and wrapped her up so tight in his arms that it almost took her breath away.

Hugs were another one of those little moments to Mike, and he always put every bit of his heart into them.
