Charles Dowding

I've had that exact same question even before I sat down with this agronomist to talk about my soil.

You know, Charles Dowding, a very famous UK gardener, he has books and a YouTube channel and a lot of things.

And he talks about the no dig gardening method, which is where you create garden beds by just piling on compost.

And he'll talk about the green waste compost.

Using YouTube as my inspiration.

And Charles Dowding, who I heard is also another guest that you've had here.

So I watched a lot of his videos, imagined him as my garden dad.

Garden dad.

Great tip.

I have a love-hate with calendula because it's so easy to grow and it's just like there every year.

And then Charles Dowding, the god, was like, no, I'm sick of calendula.

And then I ripped it all out and now I'm like, come back calendula, I love

Cool.

I came across Charles Dowding.

Mm.

Who has some really, really great resources-

... to...

And you may...

That, like for example, Charles Dowding's name might have been said 10 times before, but you didn't, it didn't click, you didn't follow it.

Like, sometimes it takes three people or three instances for us to pop up.

And welcome to the show.

It's Charles Dowding, organic farmer from Southwest England.

How are you today, sir?

I'm very well, thank you, Shane.

Yeah, we'll definitely get into all those books for sure.

What's the name of your YouTube channel?

It's just my name, Charles Dowding.

I keep it simple, so all my social media is just my name.

So...

You can then see how that bed performs next year, which I know some people, I think Charles Dowding, if anybody listened to that podcast episode that we did with him, he's amazing.

And he does those kind of experiments.

So, yeah, give it a go.
