Mrs. Bennet, the mom, is very eager to get her daughters married off and is very excited when one Mr. Bingley, a wealthy single gentleman, moves into the area.

At a town ball, Mr. Bingley is introduced to the daughters and is immediately taken with Miss Jane Bennet.

Mr. Darcy... is his friend, another wealthy bachelor, who meets Elizabeth.

He is the original tall, dark, and handsome male main character, but Elizabeth instantly dislikes him.

He's snobbish, he's rude, he's very dark and brooding, and he overhears his mean, dismissive comments about her.

And so Mr. Bingley invites Jane over for tea, where she gets trapped by the rain and falls ill, and Elizabeth goes over to care for her, and she once again runs into Mr. Darcy.

Jane recovers.

But anyways.

It makes me think there's a bit in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice where when she's, like, suddenly learned the truth about what's happened with Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy and stuff.

When she's walking with Colonel, like, Captain Fitzgerald or whatever the dude's name is.
