Commercial and industrial is my next.

And then I think it's the EVs, the EV charging infrastructure and network and electrifying freight.

Those are the policy areas where I'd like to make the biggest difference.

And I'll... hand back but it's interesting to me because i kind of see it exactly what you've described as being your natural uh territory and then the clean energy council's always been about big wind and to a little lesser extent uh big solar i mean do you just kind of see that differentiation remaining or i mean do we really need two peak bodies i mean all the The industries, you know, ultimately consumers have to pay two sets of fees.

The recent announcement that the ESRES is going to be extended to one megawatt systems.

Those have been outstanding successes, what we get to see with the larger scale solar.

What's next on your agenda quite specifically? I mean, you talked about EV charging.

There's a lot of discussion at your conference on Tuesday about the need maybe for batteries to be part of that larger rooftop solar scheme.

Not a realistic business case anymore, I don't think, but [laughs] that was one there.

And then another one was actually Level One EV Chargers, and I remember, "What the heck is this guy gonna do with this?" This was like 2000, at that point, 2011.

I said, "What the, what is he gonna do with that?" And he actually won, uh, a Capital One grant for it, and he got to work on it.

Don't know how he turned out, but those are some interesting things I did in that incubator.

Yes, uh, people might say, "But can I drive my electric vehicle from, uh, Johannesburg to Limpopo?" You know, long distance, um, installations, that is also happening, maybe not at the speed at which, you know, that, that, that it should, uh, but, but you're really starting to see that.

You, you'll be amazed, uh, Stephen, that actually in South Africa right now, there are more than 350 chargers, uh, in South Africa, uh, both AC and DC, so fast chargers and slow chargers.

So it's not that we do not have, um, charging infrastructure.

The question is, is the charging infrastructure actually, uh, enough or covering the areas where, where, you know, where the user is going?

There are three golden rules here.

One, prioritize AC or slow charging for your daily needs.

Ultra-rapid DC fast charging is great for road trips, but using it every day causes thermal aging of the cells.

Two, adhere to the 20 to 80% state of charge rule.

So just the Type 2 connector is completely different for EV sold in the US and the EU.

So that's the main reason.

22 kilowatt max and it's 650 euros, which is actually a pretty good price as EV chargers go.

Most of them are double that.

So that's actually a really good price for what you get with that really.

They're free promotion for you.

But I was going to say, it seems pretty cheap for what you get in there, but...

Yeah, most EEV chargers that can do 20kW are nearly £1,000 at some point, so that's actually not a bad price at all.

We bottomed out a couple times.

It was really funny for like the first three stops at Chargers trying to figure it out because I'd never used one before.
