Chaparral High School

In Sydney Matthews.

From Chaparral.

And, I mean, she's been all reliable for them.

19 interceptions, just like Schatz, but also 34 flagpoles doing her thing.

Maybe not what you want out of your safety, but still producing over there, which, I mean, you can't complain with at all.

Against Lutheran, two interceptions against a decent 4-8 team, also two poles against them as well.

I mean, she had some big moments and has been a key part of that Chaparral defense for a while here, and so definitely deserving of that one.

And last but not least, we have yet another safety, but I believe, I want to say, ooh, I want to say this isn't her first year.

And so Denver South goes ahead and eliminates Chatfield with an 18-13 unlikely win.

All right, now let's go ahead and talk about the second round of the 5A playoffs that took place on October 17th, starting with Chaparral versus Doherty.

And this one really wasn't close.

Chaparral wins 59-0 here.

Zoe Fink, 20 of 27, 247 yards and 7 touchdowns here.

The freshman quarterback, Vivian Dowling, for Chaparral, won 3 of 4 for 31 yards and a touchdown as well.

Fink also adding 30 yards on the ground.

Her twin sister, Paige Fink, 6'4", 83 in a touchdown as she led the way in receptions and receiving yards.

Played high school at two places.

One was called Chaparral High School.

That's where I started out, where I grew up.

Then I ended up transferring to a new school that opened up.
