Patrick Ness is an American-British author, screenwriter and journalist whose books have captivated readers around the world.

He's perhaps best known for his award-winning Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls, and has found fans in millions of readers the world over.

Patrick's stories are known for tackling big ideas with wild imagination and a very human heart, exploring themes like identity, grief, hope and resilience.

Patrick is also one of only a handful of authors ever to win the prestigious Carnegie Medal twice, and in consecutive years for Monsters of Men and A Monster Calls, the latter of which was also adapted for the stage and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Family Show.

He was also made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in recognition of his outstanding contribution to storytelling.
