Change data capture

I don't have to know what that file format is in order to use Postgres.

There are tools like Change Data Capture and some replication products that that understand Postgres log formats and can read them.

But for the most part, these are very tightly coupled things.

Now, I wouldn't then say, well, I'm going to get my Postgres file formats and run Oracle on top of it.
